It doesn't sound like anything to unrealistic either. They could even be trained to fight with you. But if they die then of course they would not come back so there would be a risk in doing so depending on how difficult it is to tame them
Will there be the option to own a home and live as you see fit? Maybe have the option to start a business on your own property as a farmer or selling various goods?? This is probably an option that would work out best as an online feature.
