    That's impossible to say right now. What they're doing primarily is making a new engine with innovative physical systems. I don't think you can even classify their game as an RPG in the traditional sense. The best RPG's ever made have overly simplistic combat systems with the right combination...

    Real world physics...

    I think a nice compromise between realistic and fun would be to have movement speed/stamina run out more quickly while engaged in combat, but not so much while just traveling.

    Bushido Blade is one of my favorite PS1 games. I have yet to try Dark Souls...maybe it's time I change that.

    I'm mildly concerned with how much skill/learning curve will be involved with your combat system once all is said and done. I hope there are small nuances involved in the control scheme that aren't necessary to win, but give you small advantages for 'trying' harder. I respect your project...

    I would like to talk about weapon clashing for a moment.

    This could be an interesting dynamic in the way that knife fighting in FPS games (Counter-Strike/COD) is a nice break away from standard engagements and requires a different approach, particularly due to the exponential increase in how rapidly rotational mechanics can affect aim.
