The Next UO?

When i saw the Kickstarter Video of this game i felt honestly blasted away. The ambience is amazing and its easy to recognize that this game has so much potential. I felt instantly reminded to the maybe best gamer times of my life on an Ultima Online Freeshard which offered a very personal way of mixing gaming and RPGs. This game has the potential to become its successor.

Now i wanted to ask if there are any plans like that from the development team. It would need a very easy to understand interface where you easily can build your own worlds and offer the players a lot of opportunitys in creating items, having to eat, creating cities and so on, that would go way beyond the typical Diabloish Hack&Slay. To me it would really mean the world if you could consider that and take a deeper look into that idea since i waited for ages for a game, that could ressurect that feeling.

Hah! That's what I was thinking too!

Unlikely, but I do wish they'd put some real interesting mechanics on crafting and other ways to play through a story instead of just "action" based quests/etc.

I get the impression that it's going to be more impressive, innovative, and unique than that... watch this space!!!

I don't know how much more unique than a game that has a player based his entire game on building things and selling it... in a field where it's literally littered with action (WOW, GW2, SWTOR, etc).

Impressive and innovative, I was thinking and hoping for that as well. It has been 12 or more years since UO... that'd be a bit painful if they didn't have that on the plate. That said though, most AAA games do lack the innovative point.

I think that Sui Generis is unique simply because it's different to everything else out there. By definition, it's in its own genre!

It's impressive and innovative by technology alone. Take the fact that Madoc has built the engine from scratch. WFT!!! Plus the graphics, physics, and associated technologies wipe the floor with that of existing games, especially iso-RPGs. Truly, they've got some pretty impressive stuff that other developers will want to build from in future.

Gameplay-wise, I've never heard developers talk so passionately and in-tune with the gamers about immersion and realism. It's like a dream come true. I've been waiting for this for many years now, and can hand-on-heart say that this pre-pre-alpha view of Sui Generis is turning out to be the most impressive, innovative, and unique RPG in modern history.
