Uploading files in comments/posts

Does anyone know the maximum size of files allowed to be uploaded?
Im trying to post a gif in the comments which is 1.5 mb big but I keep getting told its too much..

i dont know what the max size is, but what u can do is upload it to tinypic.com and just post it here as a link/picture
