Healing salves

I don't get why there isn't a salve on level 2 as well. You're not decently armored until the end of level 2, and it seems to me that armor itself is pretty much the only thing that matters, as the armor skills don't add much at all. I keep getting slowly undone by stray hits that my character chose not to block for some reason, made worse by the lack of armor.

You can get mid-level armor in level 2, very quickly. You should also probably be trained in the defensive skill under armor.
