Help from community

Hello,Bare Mettle Entertainment!
First of all, sorry for my basic English.
As veteran gamer, I was completely shocked after watching prototype video. This is truly revolution, game we waiting for years in now rather stagnant CRPG genre. I want this game happen with great passion, as, I think, many other gamers.
So, I have question. Do you need any community help other then financial?
Some of community members can be experienced professionals in spheres useful for development: 3d modeling, art or something else. Indeed, their role will be only supportive and in small tasks (like decorative 3d object ). This help can safe some of your time and resources in not easy battle for this great game. And also be a positive foundation of modding community-developers relations.
Personally, I’m professional historian, and gladly help (and make some research) with any “medieval” questions that can be part of setting – about weapons, clothing, traditions, names, everyday life etc. Just as consultant.
Other important thing – active community members can “spread the word” about game in their national gaming sites/boards and by this help Kickstarter campaign. It will bring additional backers, ones how not familiar with Kickstarter or not so good in languages to find out about game in other sources. This can work if your team makes some guidelines for this fan-advertise process. May be prepare text for translation to other languages.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks for your great feedback.

We are definitely interested in taking new talent on board but many small contributions from many people would result in a less consistent style and may prove very difficult to manage.

Certainly spreading the word is something we seem to be in great need of!

Thanks CrazySwayze. Much appreciated. We're working really hard on getting ourselves more publicity so it's great to get some help.

Hi there!
I have supported you on kickstarter but i believe that the individual can do more than that, with the devs help.

Lets do it Minecraft style!
Minecraft as you may know is one of the most famous indie games out there, yet Notch (its dev) never paid for advertising, it was spread via numerous ways, social networks, gameplay and various other aspects were shown on youtube (search for "creeper") it has its own mascot which is unique to the game (hssssss-BOOOOOOM), it spread through friends and piracy (yes piracy) and regular updates and most important thing of all the community kept the dev in touch with reality, there is no fluff in Minecraft, everything is useful.

Now
Ive been spreading the link to the kickstarter campaign via social networks, that will help somewhat to get your name out.
Video is a powerful tool that ye can use, getting the alpha and beta testers posting clips to youtube will show people how good it is so the sooner you can get at least a demo into their hands the better.
Is there a singular character which you can get the player to love or hate

And a big question for you as the devs, and for the consumers, what DRM will you have?
If someone pirates it would they be able to play offline only and miss out on the online/lan?
Would ye release your own "pirated" version which would act as a demo?
The bittorent protocall is most associated with piracy but its the most efficient way of delivering content, would you use this or be stuck on the old fashoned direct downloads?

Thank you.
I will support ye all i can, best of luck!

I will be here for the long haul as well.. Great concept and it looks like it is going to be an awesome world to explore once things are done.

I am an admin for several sites one being the Futuremark forums and that is were I found out about you all through a post. I am also the designer for the Guru of 3D site and just finished the new theme for them. I created all the forum themes over at the Futuremark forums as well.

The point being is that I would like to help out here on the site and forum if you all need the help and I look forward to getting to know you all.

I am also going to talk with Hilbert over at Guru about doing an article about this on the site to help spread the word about the game. I'll let you know what he says..

Indeed. Just look at how much buzz the Overgrowth developers have been able to generate with their weekly update video showcasing their amazing progress, and their weekly alpha release. Showing progress keeps people interested, and providing a weekly demo proves that you are not just making the stuff up.
After the kickstarter is over, you should definitely also have a way to pre-order the game from the site and constantly encourage people to do so.

I've tried to reach YouTube gaming personalities, but haven't seen much response yet. I'll do my best to spread the word.

We posted up aother vid over at Guru and will continue to promote it weekly during the KS funding drive. As updates come along in the future about advances with the work over the next year or so We will keep up on them as well.

I agree with the video parts mentioned above and think that it is the easiest and best way to spread the word, the written word can only get you so far.. What's the saying? "a picture is worth 1000 words"..
