On my most recent play through, I put my torch in my strongbox, knowing I didn't need it for the time being since the room I was in was pretty well lit. Once I was done slaughtering zombies in said room, I clicked on my strongbox to get the torch out since the room that I was going to enter was pretty dark, but some sort of "container error" happened and the torch, along with many other things in the strongbox were gone forever. I think there should be a couple torches scattered throughout each level, maybe 2 - 4, it would be very helpful when someone simply loses their torch or a bug such as mine occurs.

It's a good idea to drop the torch on the ground in a strategic location. That way, it provides light while you're not holding it, which can be useful in a fight. Plus, you see it there so you don't forget to pick it up again, and no evil container errors can destroy it. It might get kicked around during a fight but this doesn't hurt it.
