Games to Fill the Gap: What you're playing before Sui Generis

I tried playing Skyrim with Requiem and most anything compatible, but....meh. Tried an illusion master/assassin, took to level 40, and decided to finally test a destruction mage. My level one mage just steam-rolled enemies that I would need carefully plan to defeat with my assassin. Couple that with stabbing through steel plates on a daily basis and getting owned by magic users and I'm done for a while.

Got Long War for Xcom. I like that everything is more difficult, but I have a few problems with enemy strength. (Looking at you, sectoids) There's nothing quite as irritating as putting a rookie behind full cover only to have 4 sectiods mind-rape them. With. No. Cooldown. Great, they're out of commission for 25 days, and two other guys are panicked. -_- Xcom only hires the best. Flying enemies can't be flanked, can dodge, and most have damage negating armor. Meanwhile, not even in my second month and I'm getting large UFO's, followed by a hunter/whatever-it's-called that shot down my only satellite. I have always focused on tech in these types of game, but I feel constantly behind in long war; I'm stuck trying to boost my squad effectiveness while trying to be able to respond to threats, but accomplishing neither. I have no deficiency in tactical thinking (great at chess) but I've found my experience to be infuriating. I'll see if I can salvage that playthrough later.

Yeah, that's pretty much the story for everything. Sui Generis is the kind of rpg I've been waiting for. I actually got directed here from another Indie title, Thrive. (The grown-up game Spore was supposed to be) I look forward to waiting with you all.

I play in PC games only sometimes, not more then few times in month. Early, when i was young and full of strength, i play a lot more then now.
Now i perceive a games not as entertainment, but more as a art, appreciating firstly originality and a author's style.
And Sui Generis it's a game that impressed me very hard.
What about others games, i long time waiting for
1) Clang by Neal Stiphenson, but was betrayed, so and all others backers and fans - no news, no progress - just words about lost of all backed moneys. In this case, sadly, great idea and big emount of money didnt help, because of lack of talent and reasonable management.
2) The Forest, in this game i was impressed by very smart AI and deep atmosphere, but game still in development and i can't say verdict now, but like the game.
3) Age of Decadence, because of difficult and deep RPG system, not stupid story-line and hard and rich tactically fight system.
4) Kenshi, this game have a good art style, attractive setting and thoughtful in-game mechanic.
5) Mortal Online, only one MMO that i play sometimes, few weeks in year if be accurate :) I like it for full loot, metallic colors gamma, very beautiful sky, free pvp, really diverse skill system with ultima-like level up and so )
...and few more :)

But i don't forget about my old favorites and sometimes play hour-two in some of it:
1) Gothic 1-3, TES: Daggerfall - Morrowind, System Shock 1-2, Deus ex, Arx Fatalis 2) Master of Magic, Civilization, Birthright: the gorgons alliance, Master of Orion, SM Alpha Centauri, Majesty 3) Wizardry 6-8, Might and Magic 4-8, Wizards and Warriors, Lands of Lore 1-2, Return to Krondor, Betrayal at Krondor and many others games, that interested me in some periods of my life :) May be in future, when i will retire and be a pencionere i'll play in some part of it, but now i have no time for it :-(

And i absolutely forget about console games: it's Bushido Blade title - one of the best game series :) (i think that only one this game enough to buy PS1). And i must say about really good games, that was created by From Software - King's Quest and Shadow Tower.
Also, i never forget so nice games from Sega - Time Killers, Golden Axe, Fatal Labyrinth, Alien Storm and even play sometimes in it, through emulator or on my Sega Genesis :)
And last moment, one of the my favorite games from childhood was a Pinball. I love massive and beatiful tables with numerous lights, strange sounds and mysterious paint and figures. When i was young, i played in it in clubs of game machines, but after, when all this clubs was closed, i sometimes play in pinball on PC :) (but in depths of my soul i hope that sometimes i buy one of the most beautiful tables and take it to Russia ^-^ because in Russia very hard find good pinball tables :-( ).
Uff, it's all.
Sorry if you are bored with my messages :)

I found out about SG in november 2012, but at that time I was busy playing ARPGs, and I did not pay much attention to it.
I played D3 for a little while, untill that I discovered Path of Exile, which I played for long while untill that I got burned out with ARPGs... figured I'd rather go to a casino and play there with RNGesus.
Then, as a fan of NWN1, I thought that I had to try Neverwinter (MMO), it was fun for a little while, untill that I stumbled upon the MMORPGs / "F2P" caos; regardless, I had a lot of fun creating my own quest with their editor.
Then, I became intrested on playing survival games; probably because of watching too much: The walking dead ~ Oct, 2013... But, then I bought all the books of: A song of fire and ice, and I did not play games untill that I read all of them, it took me a while (~3 months). :D
Then, I played hearthstone when it started the Open Beta stage, and I played it for quite a while (~ 3 - 4 months), untill that I got bored.
Lastly, I remembered that ~ 2 years ago, browsing on kickstarter I found a very cool game, but I could not remember the name, and I did the search... and found Sui Generis!
Since then, I have not played anything, I'd rather check the forums, watch the media videos or eventually play the combat beta (Which I played "non stop" for a week when I got it).

Haven't been playing much in the past few months. However I did play Dark Souls2 quite a lot once it finally was released on the PC. Also played games like Red orchestra 2, Trine 1/2 and Magicka to and from, although not as much. I spent a good 100+ hours playing one old favorite, Worms armagedon. Pretty all we did in school the last half year :p Other than that I've not really found any new games that's really got me interested. Oh and I also started playing LoL a few weeks back. Played HoN (and some DotA) "back in the day" and I feel I'm stuck in the Moba genre again :p However I do really looking forward to getting a PS4 and Destiny (Huge Halo 2 fan) and then Bloodborne (The next "souls" game in case any souls fan missed it >_<) when it comes out.

Still playing Dark Souls 2 from time to time, specifically around the time each DLC is released. The DLC's aren't great, not the same quality as Artorias of the abyss DLC in the original one. They are still good enough though, it ads quite a bit to the lore, and always fun with new equipment, areas and enemies. I also play LoL and Hearthstone occasionally. Other than that I'm eagrly anticipating the release of SG prelude alpha and Bloodborne.

However, a game called Archeage is going to be released tomorrow which I'm really excited about. It's an MMO, which is a genre I never really cared for, but after playing it in the closed betas I realised it's a pretty great game. If any of you guys haven't heard of it, it's worth checking out even if your not an MMO fan.

It looks like that we will have to wait a few days/weeks for them to add new servers, the queues are insane. :p

Played it a little when the new leagues started, with the forsaken masters. Think i have a level 77 marauder. Haven't touched it in a while.

Yeah the queues are ridiculous at times. However, what I've played so far I have mostly enjoyed. Looking forward to them getting the queue issues resolved.
The queue are pretty much solved, and my absense of the forums are due to my addiction to the crafting system of ArcheAge. :p
I really enjoy creating farms up in the mountains, planting trees and mining; and then selling all the goods... =) I dont even do quests or dungeons.
So, in the meanwhile I will be playing AA (NA/Inoch).

Yeah, really satisfying that the queue issues are resolved. And I as well enjoy the crafting aspect of the game a lot more than the PvE. The PvP is pretty cool as well though. I'll probably just be playing Archeage until Sui Generis Prelude alpha is released. Dark Souls 2 dlc I'll do as well, though I will probably finish it in one day.
