What (Movies, Games, Books and/or Literature) did you guys take inspiration from whilst coming up with the premise for Sui Generis?

i.e The movie "Kingdom of Heaven" for, per say, the Environments.

Some people say Inspiration is caused when a particle so small they penetrate us imperceptibly strikes a minute cluster of neurons in the brain, an entirely random and unpredictable event.

Others describe a Collective Subconscious that we can all tap into and share within our dreams & daydreams, we pour our experiences & thoughts into it, mix it up, and the lucky ones get the resulting spark, maybe even around the same time like Newton & Leibniz.

Or some things are simply emergent and they're going to happen regardless, sit back and enjoy.

Is there a fourth option?
