If you are using your fists against enemies with swords or similiar weapons, you should die. That's how I think it needs to be.
Fists can be a formidable weapon, yes, but they shouldn't be a viable option in a fight against someone with a sword or any other hand-held weapon, that'd be just silly and wouldn't fit this game.
And even if you could use your bare fists, try to block an attack from a sword or mace and your hand would be gone.
And even if you would use some sort of spiked gauntlets, that wouldn't help you against superior reach and power of medieval weaponry.

I'm all for diversity, but I don't think martial arts of any kind have a real place in this game. I think Bare Mettle should focus on weapon-based combat instead of trying to branch out to unarmed fighting styles.

I think if you go up against a knight unarmed it should be possible to defeat them, but you're going to have to get creative buy catching him on fire with lamp oil or tripping him with something, Basically, I would like to be nearly guaranteed death with a 30% chance of not dying if you're super familiar with the game mechanics and you are very resourceful.

On that note, I'd like Sui Generis's unarmed combat to be more brawly and less Kung Fu-y, Kung Fu-y works very well for a game like Overgrowth, but this isn't overgrowth, I would like it to centre around smashing people with game objects, Bear mugs, Wine bottles, shoving tables into people, pinning people to the ground with bar stools, throwing someone into an oil lamp, using a broken table leg as a club, etc. Basically, I want some really narly bar fight mechanics that end with the whole place being a total mess.

Back to more frivolous features. I want to staregaze. Just lay down, go into First person view, and watch dat sky.

Something I'd like to see in more games is randomized elements of an enemy's appearance. The regular zombies in Left 4 Dead and Rift (I believe) both did this where an enemy has different costume parts, of which it would randomly select some to give each an individual look so they aren't all strictly clones and still make them identifiable. Goblins might have a random pot or pan hanging off them, different head shape, etc. with enough elements that you won't engage 2 identical enemies at the same time.
I completely agree. When I see a Bren Troll, I don't want ti to look exactly the same as every other Bren Troll.
