Wounds, Limbs and Gore

Life is tough... trials and tribulations...
well put matey, life is cruel, and since SG is there to top reality wherever possible, medication system just can't be overlooked, just as diseases would not be.

Better to get used to from now on into adversity, or accept to become a hollow already.

Additionally it shall be lots of fun to deal with broken bones/chopped off limbs after fights, the tension of survivaling struggle, the heartbeat you gonna feel if you ever make it to town at the least and forth, even imagining this is exciting as hell !

But you can't survive in a setting like Sui Generis without a healing potion or a magical doctor, two things that are not in the game.

I don't see why we don't just have it so dismemberment's only happen when your character is pretty much going to die from the hit anyway. Make it so it is just a different way to die, don't make it some silly new feature.

I'd like to see the feature of picking up, throwing and making a tool (bait) out of severed limbs rather than a full medical system. I believe the only way to replace a lost limb in this specific setting would be with thaumaturgy. If the character loses a limb, he will probably die in the next 10 seconds, so I believe that there is no huge need to get into how effective getting ripped to pieces will be in combat. This would also apply to enemies, of course.

If by "tool" you mean take someones arm and use it as a weapon against his friends while screaming "wanna piece of him?" .... count me in.

It is an adventuring game, losing a limb should just be a death.
This was my point earlier. I think dismemberment ANIMATIONS would be good upon death, but they mustn't have any affect on gameplay. If you die because you get an arm lopped off, or die because of a flail to the face (See signature above) , you
still die...

I agree... but I would rather see it inherent in a proper mechanic, not some boolean choice. Losing a limb shouldn't mean you die. Losing a limb should mean that you lose a lot of blood, which would mean you would die. Subtle difference, but it is important.
I must add that it is the end result that matters here also....... either dying or surviving o_O

I expect the team has better things to do than get really anal about coding in the exact, medically precise ways in which you die.
The reason that it would be cool to be able to continue functioning for a while with a busted/removed limb before dying is that in SG it has been stated that your char is special because he can come back from the dead. Ie nobody else can. So upon losing a limb you bumrush the boss and hope you can kill him before you bleed out.

Essentially losing a limb should be a dot (damage over time) effect that does not end until you die. Upon ressing you get up with a fresh new body (or scarred or however it is plotted) and think, "glad I finished off that last troll before I bled out." Or "Glad i reset my spawn before I bled out" or "glad I hid my best kit before I bled out" or whatever. This works for me better than instadeath on limb loss, it is a death sentence, but not an immediate one, and death is not too bad.

I would greatly prefer a system where you could recover from a severed limb (Mostly because most games seem to be adverse to leaving the player with permanent injuries), but I also understand that it would not be a fun experience to most players.

I guess I need to get my player character mutilation from roguelikes, like I have to this day.

Just because you eventually come back does not mean you ignore all pain and can effectively function without an arm.

You have lost a leg. How much bumrushing do you expect to accomplish?

Oh my god ... do you think there will be bunies too?

If they go for loosing a limb they should add a little something to the name of a game. Sui Generis: Tis but a scratch.
Maybe the the main character will be one of the Knights who say Ni and we'll have to go on a quest for a Shrubbery.... sorry I killed it

Maybe not the first few times, as shock sets in, but after you figure out that death isn't fatal, maybe you can learn to ignore the pain?

When I broke my leg a few months ago (critically failed a 'walk on icy ground' check :() I lay just like I landed screaming like a girl (literaly; my voice went up like 2 octaves) not dareing to move for fear of doing myself futher damage. If I knew I'd have a fresh working body in a few minutes I may have been more inclined to push through the pain and get to the pizza place I was headed to and ask for a blanket and ambulance. I deffo could have crawled there, or even possibly hopped if it weren't icy, but the pain and sensible notion of not aggravating the damage held me back.

I'm not saying that losing a limb won't slow you down a lot and make you nearly useless in combat, but I am saying that losing a limb should not insta-gib your character. Crawling around on one leg for a bit before bleeding out would be fun/funny to play (at least to me). Perhaps it would give me a chance to lob a bottle of greek fire at someone, or fire an already cocked and loaded crossbow. Heck if my dude is a force mage, perhaps I could pull a Ransōtengai (http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Rans%C5%8Dtengai) and use telekinisis to control/replace my dude's smashed up limbs.

Well my father once told me how he woke up in hospital after they amputated his leg under knee. They gave him wrong dosage of painkillers. I don't think you can do anything with that kind of pain. In combat you would be full of adrenaline but i dint think even after that you could do much.
