Half-swording?

It'd be really sick if half-swording was possible. For those who don't know what half-swording is, it is holding your sword by the blade and using the pommel and guard as a bludgeon. It's a real fighting technique mainly used (I believe) when you're going against someone with plenty of armor where the sword blade itself is otherwise useless.

I'd really like to see it in the game at some point. Thoughts?

The wikipedia article on the subject ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-sword ) is poorly sourced but there's no mention of hitting anyone with the hilt. Think about it, if you were to hold your entire sword by the blade so you can strike with the grip, hilt or pommel, your opponent could simply grab it himself and pull it from your hands, effectively making you useless in combat (ever tried doing any kind of manual labor with cuts on the inside of your hands? If the pain doesn't slow you down the blood most certainly will!)

You'll note that when you do thrusting attacks with 2 handed swords, your character will be half-swording. It would also be done with shorter weapons, but it's not implemented like that in game.

Skallagrim has the video on it
Interesting vid. He refers to striking while holding the blade with both hands as a "murder stroke". Still, I'd personally stick to half-swording if only so I never end up presenting my weapon's grip to the enemy.

*edit*
Here's an article on the murder stroke itself! :D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordhau
It is also poorly sourced, but the only source is a combat manual, safe to say it's got at least some degree of reliability.
