Only combatants for hire in arena? [possible bug]

I'm a little over ten days in and have only seen combatants on the hire screen. I check every day to see if there are any traders, doctors, or trainers to hire. Especially traders to get my guys better outfitted. But every day it is always only combatants. It's to the point I think this is a bug. My friends have also reported that they can't seem to get traders. If it isn't a bug we're just extremely unlucky.

I have a trader, but nothing I buy is visible when I go to management. I buy the items but nothing appears. I dont know if they're blacked out and I can't see them, or just not there. I have seen items turn black now since the new patch.
