SG - NPC Knockout

In Sui Generis, will Human NPCs follow a similar knockout system as the Player in Exanima.
Let's say you defeat a human, and you don't "kill" him or finish him off, will he then get back up after some time has passed or you leave the area and come back?

If that was not planned, wouldn't that be a great feature. That way you could spare someone or finish him off, to make returning to that area a bit easier at a later time.

The devs are very adamant about having the same rules apply to both NPCs and players, so it would be safe to assume that human NPCs will be able to fall unconscious. The reason we don't see this in Exanima currently is probably because the "transcended minds" of the undead return to wherever they came from when they fall unconscious, but that's just my guess.
