Well, 2.5 years (taking into consideration the year they've already spent) isn't a very long development cycle for even a large dev team. But they've already demonstrated that they are capable of getting a lot accomplished while working full-time jobs simultaneously. So I have faith that another 1.5 years of their full attention focused on creating the game that they'll be able to create something truly amazing
It'll also help that they have spent years thinking about the story and mechanics so they have clear goals to work towards.
